Purrell isn’t the only way to keep your home and hands clean. Compared with chemical-based antibacterial cleaning products, white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide are also capable of killing a range of household pathogens (1). And it has been observed through multiple studies that vinegar can rapidly deactivate the flu virus and other illness causing bacteria (2) (3). And antibacterial and antiviral essential oils not only masks the vinegar smell but adds an added protective punch when cleaning.
It’s important to put some elbow grease into it and clean surfaces with some aggressive (but not too germaphobe neurotic) scrubbing to help break apart bacteria
1 part white vinegar
2 parts 100 proof rubbing alcohol
4 tablespoons dish soap
1 tablespoon (basically until it smells strongly of) antibacterial/antiviral essential oils like eucalyptus or oregano
Peels of 1-2 lemons or fresh rosemary branches
Combine all the ingredients and add to a spray or squirt bottle and clean away!
