Whenever I can't decide what to make for dinner, my mind drifts to homemade pizza. But the work and prep time involved is almost always too daunting if not for a special occasion. There's a way to cheat the system: Buy a frozen pizza base, cheese and tomato sauce and all, and then add whatever toppings you like. I made this discovery during our first night in Italy this summer. I wanted to make an italian dinner with all the best clichés but was exhausted from all the traveling to conceive of watching yeast rise and kneading dough. Just frozen pizza base + tomatoes + basil + garlic + shallots + mozzarella. The result was so delicious and no one could ever tell half the dish came from the freezer isle at the supermarket.
